Tasting Notes and Scores

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 30/06/2004 Note: Due to space limitations, no tasting notes have been included, only my qualitative score. Obviously, the 2001 dry whites are extremely long-lived wines. They can be drunk young or cellared for 20-30+ years. I recently had the pleasure of tasting the 1962 Domaine de Chevalier, which was still incredibly fresh and lively. In many ways, these whites age even more slowly than red Bordeaux. A wine well worth looking at is the exceptional 100% Sauvignon Blanc dry white made at Chateau Margaux. A beautiful white, it offers aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, lemon butter, and tangerine in a medium to full-bodied, crisp, tangy style. I am not sure it is as good as the brilliant 1999, my favorite Pavillon Blanc over the last decade or so, but it is top-flight stuff. (94)
