Tasting Notes and Scores
A dense and rich red with blueberry, blackberry and licorice character. Full to medium body, tight yet velvety tannins and a long and linear finish. Shows focus. - March 2017

From the owners of Montrose. Black cherry and dark chocolate lifted with a touch of perfume. Quite sweetly fruited and dense but a little pinched on the finish. - April 2017
Bordeaux Index
The 2016 Tronquoy-Lalande is a blend of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 58% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. It has quite a deep and broody bouquet with blackberry, boysenberry and just a hint of blue fruit, gaining in intensity in the glass. The palate is quite firm in the mouth, robust and grippy with tarry black fruit, a pleasant compactness filtering through towards the finish. I would like to see more finesse develop on the finish here, a muscular Saint Estèphe that will doubtlessly age well, but more charm, please.

The Merlot-based 2016 Tronquoy-Lalande is soft, supple and quite tasty. Ripe dark fruit, spice, licorice and new leather flesh out in a supple, juicy Saint-Estèphe endowed with considerable near- and medium-term appeal. Hints of gravel, smoke and tobacco add aromatic complexity, but above all else, the 2016 is a wine built on radiant, voluptuous fruit. Racy and open-knit, it should drink well with minimal cellaring. Tasted two times. - vinous.com, April 2017

Remarkably deep crimson. Dense and very fresh and St-Estèphe. Almost as though steeped in stones! Almost too much but a strong statement. Stony, chewy finish. Long-term wine. Drink 2026-2040. - jancisrobinson.com, April 2017
