Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Bonalgue has a splendid bouquet with fresh black cherries, boysenberry and black truffle scents pouring from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, very refined and detailed with a fresh, tensile finish. This is one of the best Bonalgues that I have encountered. All that it needs is a tiny bit more of sustain.

The 2019 Bonalgue is a juicy, supple Pomerol to drink over the near term. The richness of the year comes through in the wine's dark flavor profile and overall intensity. Succulent black cherry, spice, licorice and new leather add to a feeling of gravitas.

From a sandy, early-ripening site, the 2019 Bonalgue offers up aromas of plum preserve, kirsch, licorice and mocha. Full-bodied, velvety and fleshy, it's layered and succulent, with melting tannins and a round, extroverted profile. This isn't built for the long haul, but it will deliver plenty of near-term pleasure.

Tasted blind. Bright purplish crimson. Something a little rank on the nose. Straightforward, soft and ready, but not compelling. (JR)
