Composed entirely of Cabernet Franc and matured entirely in foudres, the 2021 Todeschini Distique 14 exhibits aromas of cherries, blackberries, licorice and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy palate that's impressively deep and dense, its pure core of fruit framed by sweet, chalky tannins and ripe animating acids.

The 2021 Distique 14, 100% Cabernet Franc, turned out well. It offers plenty of Franc character in its flavor profile and overall build. Rose petal, crushed rocks, white pepper, mint and orange peel are finely sketched. This racy, mid-weight Saint-Émilion is quirky but also deeply intriguing.

The 2021 Distique 14 has a much more composed and refined bouquet than the regular cuvée: blackberry mixed with violet and wild strawberry scents and a touch of white flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannins, but there is more tension than the Mangot. Despite the abrupt finish, there is just enough salinity to maintain interest.
