The 2022 Saint Aubin Le Charmois 1er Cru has a strict, mineral-driven bouquet—flinty and developing a touch of smoke with aeration. The palate is well balanced and quite smooth, with a slightly creamy entry and hints of vanilla toward the finish. The oak just needs to be subsumed here. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
