Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Pommard Les Jarollières 1er Cru is showing some reduction on the nose, although this blows off to reveal beguiling pure red berry fruit mixed with wild hedgerow and briary aromas. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, and quite backward and sinewy in style. Clearly a Pommard built for the long term, with grip and volume toward the finish. Difficult at the moment, but in 10-12 years’ time, this should be a serious wine. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Bright dark red. Explosive aromas of dark cherry and licorice. A step up in concentration, volume and sweetness from the Volnay Pitures but with lovely buffering acidity. The very pure raspberry and dark cherry flavors are enlivened by cool, primary mint and menthol notes. Nicely balanced, ripely tannic and long.
