The 2021 Santenay Clos Rousseau 1er Cru has a pretty, simple red cherry and strawberry pastille-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, quite cohesive with a pleasant "rondeur" on the finish. Fine.

Cask sample. Perhaps showing a bit more of its ‘sample’ nature, at the moment this is rather severe and angular on the palate. Crunchy red-berry, autumnal fruit flavours. Has potential but needs a bit of time to come round. (AWH)
