Le Clos des Mouches is one of Beaune's most highly respected Premier Cru vineyards and this 2020 vintage is well balanced with good concentration matched by a fine line of acidity. Another fantastic choice to accompany a Christmas celebration.

Tasting Notes and Scores
Elegant, boasting floral, lemon, apple and baking spice aromas and flavors. Bracing acidity keeps this focused and drives the long, spice-tinged finish. Drink now through 2028. BS Oct 2022

Plenty of ripe peach and mirabelle here, but no hint of overripeness (sometimes a problem in 2020). Rich and creamy with nice textural complexity, the vanilla neatly woven into the tapestry of flavors on the full-bodied palate. Long finish with a saline mineral touch that pulls you back for more. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc 1er Cru is well-defined on the nose, quite malic with Granny Smith apples, dewy meado and light limestone scents. The palate is well balanced with good concentration matched by a fine line of acidity. One of Chanson’s spiciest ‘20s, this vein of stem ginger prolongs the finish and delivers sufficient sapidity to tempt you back for another sip. Closure: Diam

Rather winning floral perfume and distinctly edgy acidity – quite a novelty in 2020! Lots of texture but fruit is ripened to the right level too. Quite youthful but the elements seem well balanced.
Of Chanson’s nearly 4.5 ha in Clos des Mouches, a plot of 2 ha on the upper side of the hill is planted with Chardonnay, on sandy soil over limestone. Cask sample.
