A background note of wood spice combines with very fresh, ripe and expressive black and blue pinot fruit that also features notes of smoke, game, warm earth and a subtle stoniness that transfer over to the dense, round and brooding full-bodied flavors that also possess excellent sève that culminate in a palate staining and wonderfully long finish. This is a very ripe '07 in the context of the vintage but even so, it will require more than a decade to fully blossom. In a word, impressive. Drink: 2019+
