Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is rich, deep and powerful. Black cherries, hard candy, plums, violets and licorice are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass as the Gevrey shows off its flashy, exotic personality. Layers of fruit build to the effortless, radiant finish. This is a very representative 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.

This is quite ripe with aromas of plum, earth and dark berry fruit liqueur leading to notably rich and solidly well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess a mouth coating and velvety texture on the moderately chewy finish that is admirably long and delicious. In contrast to what I saw from cask last year, now that this is in bottle there seems to be a greater sense of energy and overall, this is a fine villages that is recommended. Drink 2016+.
