French Fine Wine
France can be seen as the originator of most wine styles and grape varieties in the world. Its winemaking history spans a time of approximately 2600 years long. The main wine regions within France are the recognisable Bordeaux region, where the majority of its wine production revolves around the full-bodied red combinations that initially established the region’s fine reputation. There is also the notable Burgundy region, where its two main grape varieties are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Both regions boast a devout following among the wine community. But not to be forgotten is the illustrious Champagne region, with its grand reputation and where it’s sparkling wines make an appearance at any celebration.
France has also long been a pioneer with its grape varieties, practically all the most famous grape varieties used worldwide originated from French varieties. Including French Malbec, which creates a deep and full-bodied red wine, French Merlot, with its plum and soft tones and French Pinot Noir, a cherry-filled light red wine to name a few.
The giant of the wine world, France can provide a bottle of wine for any wine drinker. Its Malbecs, often made from grapes picked from up to 100-year-old vines, are rich and full of berry red tones. To French Sauvignon Blanc, a wine originating in France, Loire, is a vibrantly aromatic and refreshing wine.
