Bright dark red. Very ripe, brooding aromas of cherry liqueur and crushed rock lifted by a floral topnote. Dense, juicy and superconcentrated, conveying a powerful impression of chewy extract to the flavors of black raspberry, flowers and blood orange. Finishes with outstanding palate-staining persistence. This and the Amoureuses seem much more backward today than Jadot's wines from Gevrey-Chambertin.

What a pleasure it is to taste the 2012 Musigny next to the Bonnes-Mares. The two sides of Chambolle are wonderfully contrasted in these two gorgeous wines. Here, sweet silky tannins support a core of expressive red fruit in a racy Burgundy that captivates all the senses. This is without question one of the most compelling wines in the range. Superb balance and class; it's all there in the 2012 Musigny. Sadly, there are just two barrels to go around for the world.
