Tasting Notes and Scores

87-89 ST

Musky aromas of flowers, spices and smoky minerality. Offers moderate density and a light touch to its lemon drop and mineral flavors. Nicely harmonious wine with ripe acidity and decent length. Lamy notes that these vines, one-third of which are now 60 years old, are not particularly well-placed.

The 2014 St Aubin les Princée has a nicely detailed bouquet with subtle white flower scents that will hopefully be expressed once in bottle. The palate is fresh and vibrant, quite linear in the mouth with a keen line of acidity, segueing into a finish with Granny Smith apple and freshly sliced pear. Nicely composed with moderate length, it will deserve a year in bottle.
