(100% vendange entier): Bright, dark red. Pungent, rather wild aromas of raspberry, cassis, menthol, earth and minerals are complicated by mint and leather nuances. Big, broad, seamless and deep, showing a lush texture but little easy sweetness to the slightly medicinal black cherry and menthol flavors. Conveys as much energy as the Combe d'Orveau Cuvée Ultra but the wine's strong tannins really clamp down on its finish today. Lay this one down and forget about it for a while.
