Tasting Notes and Scores
eRobertParker.com February, 2014
The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes was aged in 60% new oak. Here, I feel the wood is a little pronounced compared to the other crus. The palate has a thick entry with rounded, quite bold tannins. There is good substance here but at the moment I prefer the finesse displayed by the younger vines. This is a square-jawed Gevrey-Chambertin, where I am seeking a little more finesse. Drink 2015-2025.

Wine Advocate
Reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose but the robust, detailed and focused flavors are slightly riper than those of the straight villages cuvée while displaying good tension and punch on the firm but not overly austere finish that is long, saline-inflected and balanced. This offers very good quality for its level. Drink: 2019+
