Tasting Notes and Scores
Unwinding in the glass with notes of peach, white flowers, orange zest and beeswax, Pillot's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is medium to full-bodied, satiny and textural, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, chalky finish. Fine-boned and precise, it's showing well.

Lovely fruit impression that is both citrus and a bit riper, though not apricot. The fruit is pulled back by a light smokiness and a chalky mineral character. Tight, salty and beautifully fresh and balanced. (JH)

Cask sample. Big and bold – much richer than Cailleret used to be. A real undertow of ripeness. And still quite aggressive chew. But I think it should eventually be pretty interesting. (JR)
