(just bottled; 50% vendange entier): Bright, moderately saturated red. Reticent, lightly medicinal aromas of black cherry, licorice and minerals. Then surprisingly broad in the mouth, but still with a medicinal cast to its flavors of black and red cherry, spices and herbs. This reminded me of a softer, more easily accessible Clos-Vougeot.

The 2014 Vougeot Clos du Prieuré Blanc felt a little muted on the nose when tasted from barrel. The palate has a hint of rosewater on the entry, nectarine and white peach, a pretty thing if not the most complex white Burgundy on the block. I find much more complexity in the Vougeot Le Clos Blanc this year.
