The 2018 Chablis Vaugiraud 1er Cru offers lovely depth and resonance. Dried pear, crushed flowers, mint and chamomile all grace this subtle, wonderfully nuanced 1er Cru. These are the estate's youngest vines, so the wine is raised like the villages, exclusively in tank.

The 2018 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a much more fruit-driven, tropical-tinged bouquet than its peers. Consequently, it lacks a bit of complexity and race. The palate is medium-bodied with lime and mango notes, moderate acidity, rather generic and missing tension on the flat finish. Drink soon. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
