The 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is blindsided by Brettanomyces on the nose, with farmyard and sweaty saddle to the fore. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry—sour cherry mixed with cough candy—and lacks real tension and typicity on the finish. Clos Vougeot ought to be better than this. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
