Tasting Notes and Scores
When newly released this wine had typical Dom Pérignon style! The wine has a style similar to many others, but once you have it in your glass there is no doubt as to the origin. The '83 has more orchid, mushroom cream, and diesel fumes than the '85, but fewer toasty tones. The Champagne is easy to drink and juicy, rather like chewing a sweet peach. The aroma has become problematic over the years, with tones like plastic and petroleum. The flavour is creamier and more florally refined nowadays, in a similar way to the 85.
