The 2005 St.-Joseph Vignes de l’Hospice boasts a dense purple hue, huge tannin, but massive concentration and intensity. Minerality, floral notes, and an impression of a blockbuster Syrah walking on a tightrope are present in this brilliantly executed and etched wine. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following two decades.
