One of the greatest wines coming from the Roussillon is Chapoutier’s 100% Syrah release from the granite soils around the village of Lesquerde. Destemmed, vinified all in concrete tanks and aged 18 months in demi-muids, this fabulous looking 2015 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Lesquerde Rectificando Invenies (Ri) is inky purple in color, followed by northern Rhone-like blackberries, crushed rock and pepper. Full-bodied, concentrated and rich, with tons of mid-palate depth and building tannin, it could flirt with perfection on release and will have 10-15 years of longevity
