Baked apple, marzipan and ginger on the nose. High‑toned kirsch, almond paste and peach are decidedly reminiscent of the Saar, except that this wine is too fat and glossy to fit that mold. Comes to a surprisingly restrained but endlessly lingering and not‑too‑sweet finish of cherry, nuts and peach. This is from a very compactly slatey parcel.
