Not giving away much for now, the 2023 Graacher Himmelreich Spätleseis a baby. Incredible energy on the attack, the palate shows laser-like precision coupled with tight-rope tense. Floral and lifted, with a salty lemon freshness and marked minerality. Beautiful balance

The 2023 Riesling Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese offers a yeasty aroma with a hint of flint and a slight touch of mint. The palate showcases pure Mirabelle and gentle sweetness, with exquisite delineation and a supple sweetness highlighted by an exquisitely pure lemon tone.

AP number 07 24. Open and fragrant with aromas of peachy citrus, as well as a more savoury/herbal fumy note, which is subtle but adds complexity. The 2023s seem to show less of the classic Prüm smoky/flinty reduction. Katharina Prüm suggests this is sometimes the case in a more fruit-forward vintage such as 2023. Creamy and caressing, light-bodied and harmonious. Subtle, mouth-watering and long. (JH)
