The 2019 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra is one of the most elegant wines I have ever tasted from Conterno-Fantino and the Ginestra cru. Ample and broad, with huge intensity, the Sorì Ginestra is stunning. All the Ginestra signatures come through in the glass. The 2019 is deep and vibrant, yet also wonderfully fresh. There is a creaminess in the 2019 that is impossible to miss. This is so impressive.

The 2019 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra has an almost botanical feel with lots of wildflowers, iris and garden herb that are layered into dark fruit, spice and rusty metal. The wine does not shy back in term of complexity, and there are many more adjectives that could be applied to the bouquet. In terms of mouthfeel, this elegant Barolo is quite smooth, with enough tannins and acidity to guarantee a long aging trajectory. Production is 11,820 bottles.

Full southern exposition and on 380 m of elevation. Lush ruby red. Gorgeous, concentrated raspberry fruit if more compact and still a little closed compared with Vigna del Gris. A hint of eucalyptus and orange skin. Polished, velvety, succulent fruit on the palate. Mouth-filling yet not heavy. Finely chiselled but firm tannins. Very long and captivating. (WS)
