Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2001 Barolo Giachini is round, sweet and polished. This isn't the most complex Barolo at Revello but the suave tannins and sexy personality makes it a great choice for drinking over the next few years. Bright, floral notes ring out on the impeccable finish. Some very slight elements of fragility lead me to believe the readers shouldn't wait too long here.

A wonderful wine, with loads of ripe fruit, toasted oak and chocolate character. Full-bodied, with loads of velvety tannins. This is a very well made, beautiful young wine. Better than the 2000. Revello is the rising star of the region. Best after 2008. 375 cases made. (James Suckling)

Wine Advocate
Red-ruby. Strawberry liqueur and nutty oak aromas, with hints of pepper and licorice. Suave, minerally and tight; distinctly less fleshy today than the Gattera but with more thrust and energy. Then subtly sweet and long on the back end, with very fine tannins. Solidly structured Barolo that seems more youthfully unevolved than the Gattera.
