Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Concerto, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, is positively gorgeous. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, lavender, spice and menthol retains considerable primary intensity and freshness, which suggests the 2015 is going to need at least a few years in bottle to be at its most expressive. The Concerto is a wine of substance and real personality. I can't wait to see how it ages.

This is fabulous with blackberry, blueberry and currant aromas. Some slate. Full body, dense and smooth with firm and silky tannins and intense fruit. This is a classic sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon blend. Don't miss it. Needs three or four years to completely come together
James Suckling
The 2015 Concerto di Fonterutoli is an 80-20 blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon with fruit sourced from the estate's historic Siepi and Fonterutoli vineyards. The wine offers evident muscle and exuberance. These qualities are directly linked to the long and warm growing season that characterized this vintage. The wine feels softly textured and rich in terms of mouthfeel, and it offers a long and attractive succession of dark fruit, spice and tobacco-like aromas. After being removed from the Mazzei portfolio, this wine returned to production in 2011.
Wine Advocate
The polished texture and dark black cherry and blackberry flavors show glossy vanilla and toasted oak accents. The oak dissipates with air, while the fruit gains purity. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2020 through 2027. BS
