Made by François Millet of Chambolle. Chardonnay from Kopuwai Delta Vineyard in Pisa, mostly clone 15, which doesn’t flower well very often. Six barrels – meant to be 24! 15% new oak. Pressings and free run blended and settled overnight. Ambient-yeast ferment which may take two weeks to start. No SO 2 and then racked in February. Mid golden straw. Still very tight, tart and youthful but with masses of interest locked away inside it. Good effort! Dense and dry on the end. Long. (JR)
