The ’99 Vesuvio has wonderful lift on the nose with blackberry, cherry liqueur, bilberry and a touch of eau-de-vie. Very smooth on the entry, nice spicy kick, velvety smooth with blackberry, black olive, creme de menthe and blueberry. This is so svelte and harmonious on the finish: much more intensity and vibrancy than the ’97 or ’98. Superb. Drink 2015-2040. Tasted November 2008.
