Even the 2007 Capellania Blanco Reserva did not set the pulse racing. Raised in French new oak for 17 months, this pure Viura has a slightly oxidative nose that is resinous and slightly musty. The palate showed more balance and freshness with almond, butterscotch and walnut on the finish. I feel that the oak is impressing far too much on the wine and the aromatics are, to put it frankly, vexing.
