Tasting Notes and Scores
Disgorged in March 2019 under natural cork, Gusbourne's 2014 Brut Blanc de Blancs is showing very well indeed, unwinding to reveal aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, spring blossom, fresh bread, macadamia nuts and white currants. Medium to full-bodied, vinous and elegantly fleshy, it's seamless and complete, with fine depth at the core, racy acids and an elegant pinpoint mousse. Long and precise, this stands out as one of the finest offerings in its category.

Bonfire smoky nose with a lovely Chardonnay fruit purity beneath. Harmonious, with a pleasant creamy texture and well defined finish. Drinking Window: 2020 - 2027

Decanter
Perhaps the most evolved nose of all these 24 champagnes and English sparkling wines. Very charming and evolved palate that lacks the zest of some – and is much sweeter than many – but has real evolution. Well mannered rather than brash. Very tight bead. Filigree texture. Champagne? Admirably long and complex.
JR Nov 2020 - Tasted blind in a comparison of champagne and English sparkling wine. 100% Chardonnay.

Tasted from magnum. Undulating, mellow and mellifluous energy from this beautifully evolved Blanc de Blancs. Smoked pears, honey-soaked pear slices and late-summer hay meadow. The acidity has loosened into golden lacework and you can really lean into its gentle grace. (TC)
