One of Burgundy’s most legendary Domaines, Clos des Lambrays is steeped in history. Since they were first erected by Cistercian monks in 1365, the walls surrounding the Clos des Lambrays have harnessed the harmony of their 8.66 hectares of vines. We are delighted to offer you what is certainly one of the Domaine’s finest vintages of Clos des Lambrays in recent years. The 2023 is simply an astonishing wine which should not be missed. Quantities are limited and we expect high demand so please register interest below.

97-98pts Sarah Marsh MW The World of Fine Wine “Here there is the richness of mulberry fruit and spice on the aroma. But the palate is more refined than the nose suggested. So very aromatic. A perfumed, lightly purple palate, which carries to a lingering, floral, and slightly exotic finish. It is intense, very finely textured and delicate, yet the palate is expansive. Wafts on a long—so very long—and aromatic finish. As Jacques remarks, “Something happens when you put the wine together.” He is making a very different Clos des Lambrays from that of his immediate predecessors. Now Clos des Lambrays is intense yet delicate, precise and finely textured. A wine with great aromatic persistence. 2028–40+.”
95-98pts Jasper Morris MW Inside Burgundy “The 11 plots were made separately and reunited just before the bottling. The terroir delimited in 1365 rests whole, with nothing declassified. Intense black purple with some glycerol legs. Sweetly dark fruit with the whole bunches hidden. A multitude of different red fruit notes speed across the palate and then the stems do show a little, gracefully, at the finish, along with some oak. As with La Richemone one can see that this vintage is not as concentrated as the previous one, but the wine has been beautifully made with rare distinction. Fine tannins to finish. Drink from 2033-2045. Tasted Nov 2024.”
92-95pts Allen Meadows Burghound.com “This is the most floral-suffused nose in the range with its range of lilac, violet and rose petal nuances that add elegance to the black cherry liqueur scents. The middle weight flavors are not quite as dense but they are more mineral-driven and more powerful on the moderately austere, dusty and impressively long finale. This is clearly built-to-age but it’s not so compact that it couldn’t reasonably be enjoyed after 7 to 8 years.”
