LiveTrade: The Latest Updates

Earlier this year, Bordeaux Index released its fully rebuilt and transformed LiveTrade online platform, the most active global trading marketplace for wine and whisky

During this soft launch phase, we have listened keenly to client feedback (and very much continue to do so) in order to optimise the user experience on LiveTrade.

One area which we have decided to make a substantial change to as a result of this feedback is how prices are presented. This will better reflect trading opportunities, including how far apart bids and offers are and where activity may be imminent.

LiveTrade Updates

All headline bids are now presented as the amount the buyer is paying

This represents a change to the pricing historically observed on Marketplace bids where all pricing was on an adjusted net basis

Sellers should therefore bear in mind that the published bids do not represent the net proceeds they will receive if they match that bid

The net proceeds amount is clearly shown on the order form when selling or offering a wine/whisky

The Marketplace, with new interactive price buttons, also shows additional market depth, something important given the level of activity is such a key feature of LiveTrade

All existing pricing on the platform have been adjusted automatically so there is no action required from you.

These changes are effective as of 10th July 2024.

LiveTrade is the only pan-market fine wine and whisky trading platform of its kind that offers transparent, instant pricing on 1000’s of the world’s top fine wines and whiskies. In an industry first, Bordeaux Index has removed the limitation of collectors and investors only being able to sell fine wine and whisky through the merchant the assets are stored with, both assets can now be traded instantly from any professional storage facility in the UK and Europe. Open to all market participants on the same terms and offering full supporting logistics capabilities, any top wine or whisky with guaranteed condition can be added to the platform and traded including via API-driven electronic execution.

MY PORTFOLIO

My Portfolio is our best-in-class cellar management tool. You can manage your entire collection, whether it is stored with Bordeaux Index or elsewhere, and you can instantly view the performance of your wine and whisky.

The integrated portfolio management tool records, organises and values your wines and whisky, as well as enabling personalised annotations on assets stored externally. Use the grid to sort, filter, order your wines and whisky any way you wish - by region, producer, LiveTrade eligibility, % return etc. You can also export this view to excel quickly and simply.

Managing your collection is easy with ‘quick actions’ to arrange delivery, classify portfolios, organise storage and, of course, buy and sell through LiveTrade. While our website is still available to list, all wine and whisky (subject to LiveTrade conditions) can now be added to the platform.
