Tasting Notes and Scores
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Carmenere, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. A dry winter and cold spring led to a very hot summer, with days reaching 28 °C. There were 26 days reaching, or topping, 33 °C in January alone – making it Chile’s hottest month on record. Thankfully, these temperatures dropped in March, though there were still spikes in the 30s. Deep ruby colour. A bit sweaty on the nose, but there is some opulent fruit in there too. Forward on the palate, with tannins resolved and allowing sweet red fruit to shine. Soft, juicy finish. (TP)
