Tasting Notes and Scores

17 RH

Still very youthful. Loads of sumptuous primary fruit. Structure is compact and dense – almost austere. Complete, satisfying and ageworthy. (RH)

16.5 JH

Pure fruit emerging from smoky oak. Good balance of fruit and fine – as yet firm – tannins. Long and lingering. (JH)

14 JR

Another very dark Margaux. Some overripe, almost dessicated fruit on the nose. Very sweet start – black cherry jam. I really can’t see much Margaux character in this, I’m afraid. Horrid drying tannins on the finish. It seemed a bit more impressive en primeur. (JR)
