Tasting Notes and Scores

89 WS

Pretty berry, chocolate and vanilla character, with medium body, fine tannins and a silky finish. Lacks a bit of punch, but a very good wine. James Suckling

Wine Spectator

88 NM

The 2000 La Lagune was the first vintage to use a sorting table. It has a clean and expressive bouquet with redcurrant jam and raspberry preserved mixed with gravel and tobacco scents, nicely defined if not overly complex. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, tightly wound black fruit tinged with tar and sea salt, leading to a structured and rather “square-jawed” finish that would have benefitted from more flesh. Tasted at the La Lagune vertical at the château. www.vinous.com
