Tasting Notes and Scores

92 JS

Soft and fruity with pretty fruit and a clean, spicy finish. Full body with fine tannins and a wonderful chewy mouthfeel. I like this better than 2009. Better in 2016.

James Suckling

90-93 WS

A bright, floral style, with violet and singed iron notes up front, followed by silky-textured red currant, black cherry and damson plum fruit. An iron note frames he finish. —J.M.

Wine Spectator

Tasted at the UGC tasting in London. The Monbrison 2010 has a lifted, quite floral bouquet that has a distinct Margaux personality and fine definition. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine graphite entry. There is good depth but it needs a little more harmony and tension towards the finish. Tasted November 2012.

(84-86 pts)
Tasted twice with consistent notes, this is a little smudged on the nose: a veil of very ripe black fruits but there is a touch of greenness underneath. The palate is medium-bodied, just a little astringent with a chewy, dense finish that needs more purity and finesse. So-so for the vintage. Tasted April 2011.
