Strong reduction blocks the nose though there is plenty of energy and punch to the detailed, powerful and lightly mineral-driven flavors that possess both good size and solid weight, especially on the vibrant, balanced and seriously persistent finish. There is fine depth of material here and while this is somewhat awkward today, I see no reason why this shouldn't be excellent in time.

Subtle bright dark ruby. Rich and evolved nose. Sweet and charming with great infused rose-petal nose and structure. Real energy here – and not too closed. Seductive. Roses all the way. Charm a go go! Long. (JR)

(Prost vinifies this wine, from purchased grapes) Good deep red. Musky, reticent aromas of redcurrant and blackberry, plus a whiff of citrus peel and a light vegetal note. Juicy and tightly wound, with a licorice flavor and good lift from the citrus element. This extremely backward, inscrutable wine needs a racking and will require extended bottle aging. Judgment deferred.
