Tasting Notes and Scores
fully mature, strikingly complex and exuberantly spicy nose of superb depth and breadth leads to rich, full, sweet, ripe but not roasted middle weight flavors that deliver fine length and a velvety finish. This is much better than one would reasonably expect from the vintage and while there is a touch of finishing tannins still in evidence, they are certainly within the realm of acceptability. However, it is the superb spice character that defines this wine and it's a classic Romanée St. Vivant in style. A great effort and one that has reached its apogee.
