Tasting Notes and Scores
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 02/05/2011 The 2009 Bonnes Mares is another explosive wine. Firm tannins support a huge core of dark fruit in this big, structured Burgundy. Dujacâs holdings in Bonnes Mares slightly favor the terres rouges and that quality seems to come through loud and clear in the wineâs intensity, depth and gravitas. Anticipated maturity: 2024-2039. This is a beautiful set of wines from Dujac. The harvest started on September 10 and ended on the 17th. Jeremy Seysses told me he wanted to pick on the early side in order to preserve freshness. In a similar vein, Seysses kept the fermentations short and gentle to avoid over-extracting. I also tasted a handful of 2008s, which are beautiful wines that are true to type and site. In 2008 the estate finished its conversion to fully organic farming originally started in 2001. Dujac fans have a lot to look forward to in these two vintages. ()

Don't miss! A remarkably fresh and expressive nose displays high-toned red berry fruit, earth and mineral aromas that give way to firm, serious and equally mineral-driven big-bodied flavors that offer excellent verve on the well-muscled and especially structured finish that seems to go on without end. This is not quite old school in basic character though it knocks on the door and like several of these grands crus, will need 20+ years to reach its full prime. Drink: 2029+
