Tasting Notes and Scores
The Corton Vigne Au Saint is rather introspective on the nose, a touch of oyster shell inflecting the fresh blackberry, raspberry leaf and cranberry. Rugged and burly. The palate has a smooth entry, a little low in acidity, generous but missing a little tension on the citrus finish. But this is stylish for a Corton. Tasted January 2011.

Tar, smoke, spices, cured meats and black cherries are some of the notes that emerge from the 2009 Corton La Vigne Au Saint. This is wonderfully complex and nuanced, with plenty of substance and long, beautifully articulated finish. Mint and flowers add layers of complexity on the close. Croix used 20% whole clusters here.
