Tasting Notes and Scores
Slick, classy Syrah with a seamless, silky texture and typical varietal flavours of plum and dark berry, violet notes, star anise and spicy French oak. Drinking Window: 2015 - 2028
Tasted by: Bob Campbell MW Part of Top 10 New Zealand Syrah
Decanter
Nose is dominated by beautiful Cabernet notes of blackcurrant, fresh mint, cedar and a hint of gravel and sea-shell. Racy and attractive. The palate is effortless, fine and detailed with crisply defined fruit and beautiful layers of flavour. The structure is impressive, albeit created from ultra-fine tannins and precise acidity that makes for a wine of incredible class and balance. Supple texture on the mid palate allows the sumptuous blackberry and blackcurrant fruit to sing through, framed by more of that saline, savoury minerality. After an hour in the glass it opened up yet further showing hints of olive tapenade and more fresh herbs, whilst the palate remained pure and fruit-driven.B.I Wine & Spirits, )
