Tasting Notes and Scores

94 VI

94pts Eric Guido, Vinous Dark and woodsy, the 2019 Pinot Noir Chehalem Highlands grumbles up with an earth-inspired bouquet blending flowery underbrush, crushed stones, sous-bois and dried black cherries. This is built on purity, with a savory blend of red and blue berries complicated by hints of sour citrus and nervy acidity. It finishes with tremendous length and quite structured, as the palate is left satiated by suggestions of violet pastille and blackberry preserves. This characterful beauty will require patience. The Chehalem Highlands is a product of very rocky, non-vesicular basalt soils and high elevations (600-650 feet)
