Tasting Notes and Scores
Produced from a south-sloping parcel considered to be the finest sub-plot of the Faugeres vineyard, this luxury cuvee has been fabulous since its debut vintage in 1998. The dense purple-colored, medium to full-bodied 2001 Peby Faugeres boasts a flamboyant perfume of espresso roast, melted chocolate, camphor, blackberries, creme de cassis liqueur, and a hint of sweet toasty oak. This opulent, full-bodied, concentrated offering possesses ripe, well-integrated tannin. Give it 3-5 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 15-16.

Fully mature, lush, round, opulently styled wine here. The licorice, coffee bean, dark chocolate, earthy, smoke filled black cherry nose starts things off. But it is the luscious textured, concentrated, dark, ripe fruits that really hits the spot. Tasted Nov 2016

Modern and exciting red. Splendid aromas of blackberries, coffee and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with lovely sweet fruit and velvety tannins. It's long and caressing. I like this as much as the 2000. Slightly cooler but fantastic. JS
