From the Mazoyère-Chambertin section. 10% whole clusters, 90% destemmed. 18 months' élevage in three barrels, two new. Deep-mid ruby. Quite costeau – stocky. Ripe red and black fruits on the nose; black cherry, raspberry and cassis. Full-bodied, with good, fresh acidity. Powerful and intense but seems to be lacking just a little definition and somewhat ironically, charm. In a while, crocodile. (MH)
