Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2006 Suisassi (Syrah) is a gorgeous effort redolent of ripe dark fruit, violets, French oak, minerals and new leather. The wine possesses superb vibrancy, clarity and definition in a style that manages to be medium in body despite achieving surprising richness. Although the wine is delicious today, it could use a few years in bottle for the oak to better integrate. The Suisassi was fermented and aged in French oak barrels, the same technique D'Attoma uses with Le Macchiole's Scrio.

Wine Advocate
Fabulous aromas of black pepper, blackberry and grilled meat. Black licorice too. Big and juicy on the palate, with cool yet ripe fruit, from blueberries to mulberries. Vanilla oak flavors add complexity. Long and powerful. Best after 2011. 250 cases made. (James Suckling)
