Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2010 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru is a model of grace and elegance. Silky red berries, crushed flowers and spices flesh out nicely in the glass in this attractive, mid-weight Burgundy. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Comte Armand’s Clos des Epeneaux remains one of the most fairly priced wines in the world considering quality that is equal or above that of many wines with much higher pedigrees on paper. Recent bottles of the 2002 and 2003 were stunning. A Becky Wasserman Selection, Le Serbet, various American importers, including: Martin Scott Wines, Little Neck, NY; tel. (15% new oak; 100% destemmed): Good medium red. Pure aromas of red fruits and spices. Juicy and nicely delineated, with good mineral lift to the flavors of red berries, earth and tobacco. This essentially lean wine shows very firm acidity.

Tense and concentrated. Pretty tough and dry on the finish with good integrity and fruit on the mid palate. (JR)
